Sport Activities
Why not leave College with more to put on your CV? Bournville College currently offers Sports Development Centres in Football, Basketball, Netball, Badminton and Cricket,. We welcome players of all abilities, both male and female. The Running Development is hoped to be the newest recruit hopefully commencing 2012 so keep your eyes open for further information.
Being a part of a development centre means you will have the opportunity to attend regular training sessions with qualified coaches, represent the college in the British Colleges League, wear Bournville College sports kit and should you demonstrate talent we will enter you into regional college trials where you will have the opportunity to represent the college nationally. For those of you who have an interest in the coaching side of the sport we can help provide you with the chance to go and help develop your sport by spending a summer coaching in the USA.
We have some fantastic links with well established clubs such as West Midlands Development Centre (Badminton) and Five Ways Old Edwardians Sports Club. You will also learn some valuable skills such as commitment and team work that are sought by employers and Universities.
Training sessions and matches will be timetabled in between your main college course. They will take place at a variety of venues including the extensive premises at Birmingham University. If interested, you should see:
