Healthcare and Children’s Care

The Care profession is richly diverse, providing a wide range of opportunities for those who seek a career which develops positive relationships and skills with which to support others. Working in the care profession can be challenging as well as very rewarding, whether it be working with children, the elderly or people who have disabilities.

Bournville College is recognised for high quality of teaching, resources and facilities in this area. Our courses have a strong vocational emphasis and encompass several placement opportunities where you can experience the world of work. Our programmes will challenge you, make you think about your personal attributes and values and how these lend themselves to care practices. You will benefit from being taught by subject experts in Childcare, Care, Nursing and Social Work.

The courses are designed to allow you to work within a workplace during part of the week to gain practical experience in a range of care sectors.

Many of our students progress onto Higher Education to undertake degrees in teaching, nursing, midwifery and social work.
