English & Communications

Courses in English and Communications are useful as background to many careers, especially if you aim to go to University. They appeal to students interested in literature, culture, society, verbal and written communications.  You will learn through lectures, seminars and tutorials, by examining and debating different arguments and analysing various theories and works of writers. A number of theatre trips are organised each year to local and national theatres. Projects for these courses are often flexible and based around your own area of interest.

The College also has strong links with the English department at Aston University and the students have bi-annual attendance at undergraduate lecturers by the professors in residence. Our Communications and Culture lecturer is also an A Level examiner for this subject.
