Catering & Hospitality
Catering and hospitality courses have been offered at Bournville College for over 25 years. Your working environment will take place in the new fully licensed restaurant which seats over 70 people, providing a realistic working environment.
All our students are given the opportunity to gain additional qualifications such as the range of Food Safety, Health and Safety and Customer Service awards.
Guest speakers from all areas of the hospitality industry regularly visit the College. Courses include a range of educational visits to local hotels, restaurants, catering companies, food production sites, trade shows and exhibitions.
A well established work experience programme is available to all students, including top class hotels and restaurants, high street food outlets, commercial catering operations, conferencing venues, health care catering, food production sites and many more.
In November 2006 Bournville College and its partner Direct Services Division (Birmingham City Council) became one of the first regional training centres in the country. Capital funding from the School Food Trust has enabled the College to develop resources to ensure our training facilities meet the high expectations of students and employers.
