14-16 year olds
Bournville College has links with many local schools through Collegiate partnerships. These partnerships are responsible for delivering the Government’s 14-19 strategy locally. This includes developing new qualifications for young people, such as specialist diplomas.
The College also delivers provision to local 14-16 year old pupils within the Schools Links and Flex provision. These learners attend the College on a part-time basis, whilst still at school and undertake level 1 and 2 qualification in a range of vocational areas.
Each course is different, with different learning activities and objectives, – some focus on employability skills, whilst others focus on skill building and personal development. We have courses at Entry level right up to level 2 including GCSE. Students are able to improve their English and maths and gain qualifications in these as well as personal development, employability skills and a range of vocational subjects. There is a comprehensive programme of pastoral care and enrichment activities with excellent student support. Students progress onto a range of courses, apprenticeships and career opportunities.
All classes are delivered in a stimulating and supportive environment by experienced and friendly tutors who will give the students all the support they need to succeed. Students come from a range of backgrounds and have different experiences and are given support as individuals. It is a very lively department with lots going on and students get to participate in a range of new experiences.
