If you're unemployed, unexcited and unsure of your future, we have something to get you going: The Prince's Trust Team. The programme offers a range of activities and learning opportunities to encourage the development of personal and team building skills. It is free and it will not affect your Job Seekers’ Allowance. It is available to all unemployed people aged 16-25.
The programme lasts for 12 weeks. It includes a 5-day action-packed residential course which all students enjoy. In addition, you will take part in a community project and get some work experience.
Last year, our Prince’s Trust team won a national award for transforming a neglected Cemetery Memorial garden in Witton which was created after the Second World War as a tribute to civilians who had lost their lives. Students on this programme mixed with starts at London’s Leicester Square Odeon, as HRH The Prince of Wales was joined by Kevin Spacey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Richard E Grant and many others to recognise young people’s achievements.
The programme helps you gain practical skills and increased self confidence. While you’re on the programme, in addition to the C&G Profile of Achievement Award, you will have a chance to work towards other nationally recognised qualifications in subjects such as Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Drug Awareness, First Aid, IT and key skills.
After the programme you will have the opportunity to enrol on Entry to Employment (E2E), Certificate in Further Education as well as a range of BTEC Introductory qualifications in vocational subjects. You can also progress to employment.
