Do you want to work in media, communications, film or journalism? A media course at Bournville College can help you get there. Bournville College offers a good range of media courses, which include AS/A2 Levels, BTECs and Career Academy in Media. You will be taught by friendly and supportive staff who will develop your skills through a variety of lectures, workshops, role plays, tutorials and productions.

KayleighMedia students get involved in various local and international trips and visits. In June, students went onto a study trip to Berlin where they visited National Film Museum, Television Tower, Brandenburg Gate and many more. Another visit to Stratford-Upon-Avon helped BTEC Media students to complete their assignment for the Production Management module. Students also had a chance to go behind the scenes of Gok Wan’s programme How to Look Good Naked, meet Jon Snow from Channel 4 and Andrew Davies the main writer of BBC costume dramas, such as ‘Pride and Prejudice’.

 

mediaWork experience placements are often part of the course and have included production companies, such as ‘Full Range Media’ in Digbeth and ‘RED TV’ based at the Mailbox. Students have had the opportunity to practice hands on skills at the company, scheduling programs, floor managing and using technical equipment.
