I came to the UK because my parents were here for work purposes. I chose to study at Bournville College because it was convenientlylocated and also because I had heard about the quality of service andsupport provided for international students. I have been studying ESOL for the last year and the course has given me a lot of confidence to communicate better both in speaking and writing. It has been really good meeting students from different countries and backgrounds. We have all shared our experiences and news, and I have made special friends. I hope to continue with my language course and then hopefully get a job in Birmingham related to my expertise which is Mass communication. I am glad to be studying at Bournville College and would gladly recommend it to anybody thinking of coming to the UK

I chose Bournville College because I had heard that it had a good reputation for its education. There was floristry course on offer and I had always been interested in the subject. I started off by studying ESOL for one year, and have been doing a floristry course for my second year. In ESOL, I met a lot of students from various countries. Sharing time with them broadened my mind like nothing ever before. When I decided to apply for the National Certificate level 2 in floristry. I knew next to nothing about that area. Because of my return date I had to do a two year course in one year. Although the intensive course with English students has been a huge challenge for me, I have now nearly completed the course thanks to the teachers. They are well experienced and highly qualified in both ESOL and floristry. When I finish this course and go back to Japan, I am hoping to make the most of what I have learnt here.

I am learning English in the UK because it is essential for me to study for a doctorate. English is important for communication with other people from different countries. I am very happy studying at Bournville College, because the method of education is suitable for adults. Teachers know their subject and they are friendly. Also, I like the different facilities that there are in this college such as the library, computers, internet, restaurants, sports and others.

I have friends in the UK who recommended that I study over here. The reason I chose Bournville was because college staff came out to China to meet prospective students and I was impressed with what they had to say. I really like the fact that the teachers are so helpful and friendly and really know their subject. I am looking to do a Foundation to Universities programme at Bournville before studying Business and Computing at University.
