REFUNDS
Bournville College will only issue a refund if the British Embassy rejects your application for a student visa. We do not give refunds for any other reason. To qualify for a refund, you must send us a copy of your refusal document from the British Embassy, no later than 6 months after the visa was refused. If you apply later than 6 months, no refund will be issued. If you intend to re-apply for a visa (for the next available course start date) you must inform the college in writing immediately. Please note: the college will retain £100 of your deposit.
LIVING EXPENSES
The average cost of living for an International student is £7,200 per academic year (September–June). This amount will cover accommodation, food, travel, clothing, leisure and entertainment. This is only a guide, as each individual’s requirements are different. If you need to apply for a student visa to enter the UK, you will need to show the Immigration Officer that you have sufficient money for your course and for all living expenses. This can be your own money or that of a sponsor. Airport pick up will be available for £150 per person through a private Chauffeur service (Birmingham International Airport free).
ACCOMMODATION
The college does not have any accommodation, but we can arrange homestay accommodation with one of our approved host families. We inspect all our host families to ensure they provide a pleasant home and a good welcome. If you are 16 or 17 years old, you must stay with a host family until you reach the age of 18 according to your birthday. The cost of staying with a host family is: £105 per week for a room with breakfast, lunch and evening meal each dayOr£70 per week for room only (including some household bills but no food) Please note: not all host families are comprised of 2 parents with children. We have many experienced and friendly hosts with a variety of living arrangements – couples with children; couples with no children (young couples or older couples whose children have grown up); single parents with children; single adults living alone.
