GCSEs: DO NOT PANIC!

Tuesday, September 08, 2009 by blog

GCSE results are out and whether you’re ecstatic or disappointed by the letters written on that piece of paper, you can still enrol at Bournville College.

Arslan Waheed from Balsall Heath was disappointed with his GCSE results last year but instead of panicking he decided to come to Bournville College and discuss his options.

‘I really wanted to study business and I was hoping that despite my results, I could do something related to this area. When I came to enrol I was told about the BTEC Introductory Diploma in Business, Retail and Administration, so I thought this would be perfect.’ he explained.

Arslan’s course gave him a good overview of retail, administration, customer service and related areas. It even included a work placement which Arslan completed in the Media Resources department at Bournville College.

‘I loved my course and the placement was really useful. I think I had the best tutors I could have possibly asked for, we all got on very well and worked as a team, whilst having a laugh and a joke at the same time, it was brilliant’ he said.

In September Arslan is going on to do a BTEC First Diploma in Business. His long term ambition is to run his own business.

‘I would recommend Bournville College to everyone. It has a really nice atmosphere, completely different from school, you’re treated like an adult and you are encouraged to take responsibility for your own studies.’ he added.

Whatever your GCSE results this summer, the message is ‘do not panic!’.

Bournville College has hundreds of courses on offer at all levels. To find out more, call the College on 0121 483 1111 or come along to enrolment which is open now.
