Financial Studies: Swim in cash

The Certificate in Financial Studies has been designed to enable individuals to be inspired to meet their lifestyle aspirations.  There is a quite a well known phrase regarding money; ‘Money doesn’t make you happy but it does help’. There is a lot to this saying, there are millions of variables that decide happiness, most of which don’t require money, but enjoying the benefits of money is a significant part of our happiness over a lifetime.

There is also another less well known saying; ‘You don’t need school to learn about life’ and again there can be a certain amount of truth in that. With that in mind though, there are a plenty of things learnt at school that you will use constantly throughout your life; maths, public speaking, English and finance to name a few.

Everyone up and down the country will have a bank account for the vast majority of their life, juggling outgoings and incomings, saving for holidays, loaning money, paying off debt etc. That is true across the board, even if you have a hundred billion pounds, you will still have to balance your books and ensure that you don’t spend more than you’re earning.

That’s what makes Financial Studies so important; it is a life essential and will help you make the most of your money. ISAs, Saver accounts, investments, bonds etc can be a vital way of raising income by making your money work hard.

The Financial Studies Certificate will not only teach you about managing your accounts but will help you manipulate the money markets to your advantage. Financial Studies is about giving you the skills the create the lifestyle you choose: whether you want to learn to live like a king or whether you just want to learn to save, all the information will help you maximise your finances and enjoy the benefits of money.

Have a closer a look at what Financial Studies can do for you.

Having worked in Finance and studied Business Finance and Accounting many moons ago. What can I say?

Well I was never very was good at Maths, I struggled to work things out calculations in my head; they always tended to appear jumbled in my head and the answer blurred with a question mark. I could never find a calculator when I needed one, so my fingers never used to let me down…lol. It was always the guessing game, oh the answer might be this, or second thoughts it could be that..lol

At one point, I got sooooooo frustrated with numbers and calculations that I decided perhaps marrying an Accountant would be an ideal investment in fact the answer. I could throw away my calculator and I wouldn’t have to work or think about maths and calculations again.

Yet, obviously noooo, as I wouldn’t be learning anything, plus at that time I searched near and far, high and low yet it wasn’t meant to be, sadly there were no tall, dark and handsome qualified Accountants around to rescue meee ...lol

Everywhere I went I was surrounded by numbers waiting to be calculated it became like a riddle a code waiting to be cracked. Yet my curiosity as always to crack riddles, these calculations led me to study Business and Finance. Throughout the course my Maths improved greatly as I achieved a Distinction grade for some of my modules. For me this was a great achievement, so I screamed!!!!! Whoo Hoooo!!!!! Whoo Hooo!!!!

I learn’t lots, in terms of budgeting, financial/business options, accounting principles, how to construct a cash flow, balance sheet also a profit and loss account essential for any business.

Having completed the qualification many moons ago I was able to work in Finance, and utilised the knowledge that I learnt to construct, and manage budgetary records for a very busy department, and produce monthly reports on Microsoft Excel to monitor income and expenditure and advise management on areas of concern.

Yet my knowledge did not stop there as I became involved unknowingly well my arm was twisted in assisting with book keeping records and managing accounts for small businesses that I was acquainted with at the time. Which I have to say was a lot of hard work, yet the experience was rather rewarding!

Reflecting back…it was probably a good job that I didn’t marry an Accountant, I guess things happen for a reason otherwise I would have not learn't how to account myself….lol

    Have fun counting!!!!! ;0)

All the best, until next time! Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
