Introduction

This one-day taster course is designed to give delegates an understanding of medical terminology in an enjoyable and informative way and to be able to decipher and unravel the mystery of long medical words.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This taster course is intended for anyone working or aspiring to work in a medical environment.

The Introduction to Medical Terminology short course can be delivered on-site at our campus in Longbridge, Birmingham or at any organisation in the West Midlands.

Content

  • Basics of medical terminology – word building
  • Common roots, prefixes and suffixes
  • Major bones of the body
  • Classification of drugs
  • Common abbreviations
  • Medical Specialities and Personnel

COURSE OUTCOMES

Delegates will gain a greater understanding of medical terminology.

Assessment

There is no formal assessment, however the workshop will finish with a Q&A session.

Qualification Gained

College certificate of attendance.

There are no formal entry requirements.

COURSE FEES

£70 per delegate

There is no fee remission on short courses and workshops
