Creative Media Production – BTEC Level 1 Diploma

Duration

Creative Media Production is a full time course lasting until July.

Introduction

The Creative Media Production level one course will introduce you to the Creative Media industry. The course will introduce you to a range of skills including video production, photography, and desk top publishing.

Creative Media Production is taught at our Longbridge campus which conveniently has strong transport links with; Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Warwick, Solihull, Coventry and other surrounding areas.

Content

Creative Media Production will focus on developing a range of creative media skills and you will complete units in storyboards, video production, video editing, digital images and desktop publishing.

As part of a foundation learning programme you will also have to work towards your functional skills.

All elements of the course are mandatory. You will be expected to participate in all elements including functional skills.

Functional Skills

Functional Skills are a compulsory part of all Sixth Form Centre courses. Students set targets to improve their skills, and gain qualifications, in English and Maths. The Functional Skills levels taken are based on initial assessments.

Teaching Methods

You will learn through completing practical projects and written evaluations of your work.

Assessment

You will build a portfolio of work which will be marked against the qualification criteria. You will be marked on how you have used your skills to complete tasks and activities set by your tutor.

To pass your functional skills you will have to sit a timed assessment.

Opportunities for Progression

This qualification will give you the opportunity to progress onto a range of Level 2 programmes including BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production. It will also provide you with the transferrable skills to begin employment in entry level jobs.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. You will be assessed for Maths and English Skills on enrolling to make sure you are on a course that meets your learning needs.
