Duration

One day course

Introduction

Managing others and yourself assertively is based on valuing the uniqueness of each individual, including yourself.  This 1-day course will enhance skills that allow you to express yourself without violating your own rights or others and help to support you in increasing your people management skills (personal and professional), confidence and professionalism.

What is Managing Assertively?

Assertion involves developing an emotional intelligence that enables you to stand up for what you want and state your needs clearly.  It means expressing a difference of opinion and it takes courage

The aim should be to solve the problem and get the best result.

Assertion is a skill and attitude that can be learnt.

This course uses a mixture of tutor input, practical exercises and tutor-facilitated discussion.
