Have you ever thought about working with children? If so, there has never been a better time to consider a career in childcare. The demand for quality childcare has increased rapidly in recent years and it is anticipated to continue.

A career in childcare can be very interesting and satisfying. The opportunities in childcare work are endless and encompass more than working in crèches and nurseries. If you prefer older children, you may opt for a career in youth work, teaching or working as a classroom assistant. Alternatively, you may decide to pursue self-employment opportunities as a childminder or a nanny.

In addition to a Criminal Records Bureau check, Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) requires anyone working with children to have qualifications or be willing to work towards them.
