Twelve students enrolled on The Prince’s Trust Programme with Bournville College are participating in a sponsored cycle ride equivalent to the distance from John O’Groats to Land’s End. The challenge is taking place at the College’s new gym, Urban Fitness.
The money raised will help the students complete their community project, involving service refurbishment in Weoley Castle Square Club. The team is hoping to raise £400.
‘It’s a relay event, which each team member completing around 50 miles, achieving a total of 603 miles as a team. It’s going to be hard work but we have to reach our target and I’m sure we will do it’ Rowan Carr, Prince’s Trust Team Leader at Bournville College said.
The Prince’s Trust Programme was founded by the Prince of Wales in 1976 to aid personal development and offer work experience, residential trips and community projects to unemployed and socially disadvantaged individuals aged 16-25.
